Jaipur is
connected via rail from all major cities including Delhi, Agra, Mumbai, Chennai,
Kolkata, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, etc. Some of the main
attractions of this city are as follows:
Amber Fort: Jaipur is home to one of India's most-visited forts: Amber Fort. Built
in the year 1592, the sandstone and marble monolith stands atop a small hill
roughly 20 minute's driving distance northeast of the center of Jaipur. It's
best known for being a pristine example of Rajasthani architecture. The
town of Amer and the Amber Fort were originally built by Raja Man Singh and
additions were, later, made by Sawai Jai Singh. It's decked out with intricate patterns of inlaid marble in nearly every color of the rainbow. The fort is laid
out into four separate sections, each of which has a spectacular garden courtyard outside. While you'd never know it from
above, you can actually explore the fort's underground tunnels, some of which have been restored. Constructed
of red sandstone and marble, the attractive, opulent palace is laid out on
four levels, each with a courtyard. It consists of the Diwan-e-Aam, or
"Hall of Public Audience", the Diwan-e-Khas, or "Hall of Private
Audience", the Sheesh Mahal (mirror palace), or Jai Mandir, and the Sukh
Niwas where a cool climate is artificially created by winds that blow over a
water cascade within the palace. This UNESCO World Heritage Site has a fascinating history of legends,
betrayals, and romance—but the best way for tourists to hear these stories is
to hire a private guide at the Amber Fort. This palace, along with Jaigarh Fort, is located immediately above on the Cheel ka Teela (Hill of
Eagles) of the same Aravalli range of hills. The palace and Jaigarh Fort are
considered one complex, as the two are connected by a subterranean passage. This
passage was meant as an escape route in times of war to enable the royal family
members and others in the Amer Fort to shift to the more
redoubtable Jaigarh Fort. Annual tourist visitation to the Amer
Palace was reported by the Superintendent of the Department of Archaeology and
Museums as 5000 visitors a day, with 1.4 million visitors during 2007.

Indian Mythology are also engraved in the walls of the temple. The

Jal Mahal: One look at the Jal Mahal, and you might think you're seeing a mirage.
The graceful palace seems to float atop the twinkling Man Sagar Lake—a
calm sight compared to the rest of the frenzied city. Jal Mahal of Jaipur was constructed by Maharaja Madho
Singh during the 1750s. Maharaja Madho Singh wanted a lawn for himself where he
can spend his time and can have Duck Hunting Parties. Later, the son of
Maharaja Madho Singh renovated it. It is another Palace of Jaipur which
has a combination of the Mughal Architecture as well as Rajput Architecture. Jal
Mahal of Jaipur is very popular as the most photographed monument of India.
The splendid portrait of reflection of the lights in the Lakes of Man Sagar
provides a breath-taking view.
While it appears to have just one story, the Water Palace has four other
levels submerged beneath a reservoir. Tourists can't access the site, however,
that may change in the future. Rumor has it that entrepreneurs want to convert
the decaying space into a luxe restaurant.
